The death toll from the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in the Turkish province of Elazig on the evening of January 24 has reached 22.
The Turkish Ministry of Emergency Situations said that in addition to these casualties, 1,243 people were injured.
"There have been 401 aftershocks in the 24 hours since the quake," the statement also said.
