At least 53 people became victims of rains in southeast Brazil, AccuWeather reported.

According to the rescuers, 19 people are considered missing. About 14 thousand people were forced to leave their homes, over 3.3 thousand were left homeless. Nine more people died in neighboring Espirito Santo. According to weather forecasters, for a day from 9 a.m. Thursday in the capital of Minsa Gerais, the city of Belo Horizonte, a record for 110 years of weather observations fell 171.8 mm. The average monthly January rainfall in the state is more than doubled.
