Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Yuri Ilyin today declared a state of emergency in Nur-Sultan due to a snowstorm, reports Nur.kz.
Operational headquarters have been set up in the regions and comprise representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Ministry of Defense and other state bodies.
Nur.kz reports that Nur-Sultan has been hit by a snowstorm, with winds at a speed of 20 meters per second. Classes have been canceled in schools and colleges, roads are closed, and many flights have been either delayed or canceled.
