Member of My Step faction in the Council of Elders of Yerevan, Henrik Artenyan decided to put down his mandate, Suren Eyramdzhyan, a member of My Step faction told reporters.

According to him, an extraordinary meeting in this regard has just ended.

"We confirmed that this does not correspond to our system of values, against our principles, and we urged Artenyan to put down his mandate," he said.

As reported earlier, My Step faction in the Yerevan Council of Elders called an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss the behavior of their member Henrik Hartenyan.

Hartenyan shared the screenshot of the Armenian CC president Hrayr Tovmasyan's daughter’s Facebook account and urged his followers to act.

“This is the FB of H. Tovmasyan's daughter; let me see you, people,” he said.

The move was criticized by numerous followers, who described the move as manifestation of hate speech. Some pro-government supporters wrote comments to the CC head’s daughter demanding the resignation of Hrayr Tovmasyan. Other users shamed the supporters for the words they used in relation to the young woman. Hrayr Tovmasyan's daughter was forced to delete her FB page. Armenian Ombudsman was among those who criticized the step.
