On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization about an outbreak of unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan. As experts have established, the causative agent of the disease is a new type of coronavirus - 2019-nCoV, which can be transmitted from person to person.
According to the latest data from the Chinese state health committee, the total number of patients with pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus in China reached 4,515 people, with 106 people died, while 60 people recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Infections were also reported in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, the US, Canada, Vietnam, Singapore, Nepal, France, Australia, Malaysia and Germany.
