I don’t believe head of VETO initiative Narek Malyan, members of the opposition Adekvad initiative Konstantin Ter-Nakalyan and Artur Danielyan and president of “Civil Consciousness” NGO Narek Samsonyan were politically persecuted. This is what deputy of the My Step parliamentary faction Hayk Konjoryan told reporters during briefings at the National Assembly today.

According to him, only political figures can be politically persecuted. “There are no political persecutions in Armenia since there is a fully democratic system. I believe there is no use in making attempts to view phenomena that aren’t considered political phenomena as political,” the deputy said, yet failed to explain how is it that the specified opposition figures aren’t considered political figures, if they always make political statements and sharply criticize the authorities.
