Impunity for the massacre of the Armenian population in the territory of Soviet Azerbaijan is bearing fruit in our days. This is what representative of the Embassy of Armenia in the Netherlands Kristine Stepanyan declared during the annual conference organized by The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) Foundation.

In her speech following a discussion on the “Situation in Soviet Azerbaijan (12/13 January, 1990)” Report held during the submodeling for historical issues, the Armenian diplomat touched upon the 1990 massacres in Baku and stated that the Azerbaijani authorities continue to gear enormous efforts and funds to the denial of historical facts to this day. According to the Armenian diplomat, the consequences of remaining unpunished for the persecutions against the Armenian population in Azerbaijan are significant in our days since the Azerbaijani authorities not only refuse to assume responsibility for those crimes against humanity, but are also trying to blame the victims for the violence used against them and the massacre.

Kristine Stepanyan answered several questions from the participants of the submodeling after her speech devoted to the issue and presenting photographic evidence and documentary films.
