US sanctions against the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi will not affect the country's nuclear program, said Iranian MFA spokesman Abbas Mousavi.
The US on Thursday extended sanctions against Iran, restrictive measures were introduced against the head of the UAEI Ali Akbar Salehi and the organization, RIA Novosti reported.
Now their assets in the US, according to general rules, are frozen. Any transactions with third parties with them are subject to secondary sanctions.
According to him, the American policy of maximum pressure on Tehran has long come to a standstill.
