Newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri today presented his Letters of Credence to President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian.

The President congratulated Abbas Badashkhan Zohouri on assuming the responsible mission and voiced hope that the newly appointed ambassador will make his active contributions to further deepening and strengthening of the historic and friendly ties between Iran and Armenia.

Talking about the close and centuries-old ties between the two countries, President Sarkissian said both countries have always been good neighbors and have always supported each other at difficult moments.

The parties exchanged views on the Armenian-Iranian agenda and the opportunities to expand cooperation in different sectors, and the Ambassador stated that he will put in all his efforts for further enhancement and expansion of the cooperation between the two friendly countries.
