Turkey and Azerbaijan have yielded to Armenia in their data on tourism growth. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan posted this on Facebook.
"According to summarized data, 1 million 894 thousand 377 tourists visited Armenia in 2019," Pashinyan wrote. “This number is up by 242 thousand 595, or 14.7%, compared to 2018, and by 399 thousand 598, or 26.7%, compared to 2017.
In addition, according to a barometer released by the World Tourism Organization on February 4, Armenia ranks 12th in the world in 2019 among the fastest-growing destinations in the tourism industry.
Turkey and Azerbaijan have yielded to Armenia in their data on tourism growth, ranking 13th and 17th, with 14% and 11.4% growth, respectively.
Georgia is not at all among the 20 fastest-growing countries in the tourism industry.
Armenia is also a leader among the EEU countries. Of the EEU countries, only Kazakhstan is [also] on the list, which, however, also yields to Armenia with its data—recording a 10% growth (20th position)."
