YEREVAN. – Past daily of Armenia writes: A few days ago, the United Homeland party, led by [ex-Minister of Defense] Samvel Babayan [of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)], issued a statement informing that they would hold a special congress in the coming days to determine the name of the candidate to be nominated, or supported, in the [forthcoming] presidential elections [in Artsakh].

Prior to that, various possible versions were circulating among the public.

However, according to Artsakh sources of Past newspaper, Samvel Babayan has finally decided to go with his own candidate.

According to preliminary information, Babayan's candidate will be Gagik Nazlukhanyan, Chief of Staff of Stepanakert Municipality, who has worked in various departments and is one of Babayan's loyal figures.
