YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is in Vienna to participate in the International Conference on Nuclear Security, met with Li Yong, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Yong highly appreciated Armenia's accomplishments in economic development, poverty reduction, and sustainable development goals, and underlined UNIDO's readiness to continue assisting Armenia's initiatives, the Foreign Ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Minister Mnatsakanyan, in turn, noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the role of UNIDO in the implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Also, he reaffirmed Armenia's interest in further strengthening and deepening interaction with this institution. The Foreign Minister also expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by UNIDO to Armenia, and reflected on the reforms initiated by the Armenian government.

Both sides highlighted the full application of the potential of innovation and high tech in industry.
