Turkish police and Germany conducted a joint operation to detain fraudsters posing as policemen and lawyers, RIA Novosti reported referring to DHA.

Germany and Turkey have uncovered a gang of scammers who opened a network of contact centers for aid to foreign citizens and introduced themselves as police officers or lawyers. During the operation, 36 suspects in Istanbul, Mugla and Antalya and 40 in Germany were detained.

According to the agency, the scammers managed to provide over three million euros to German citizens.
