A NATO mission of 500 military instructors to train the Iraqi military will remain in Iraq so long as the Iraqi government agrees, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The mission’s work remains blocked for over a month after the Iraqi authorities demanded all foreign troops to be withdrawn from the country, he said upon arrival at NATO defense ministers' meeting on Wednesday.

According to him, NATO is negotiating the future of its mission with the Iraqi government, TASS reported.
