Head of the Penitentiary Service at the Ministry of Justice of Armenia, Major General of Justice Artur Goyunyan today received Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Ali Mohammad Motaghi and newly appointed Consul Hossein Rahimi.
Issues related to the conditions for keeping and placement of Iranian prisoners and the extradition of convicts were discussed during the meeting.
The head of the Penitentiary Service attached importance to Armenia’s close sector-specific cooperation with neighboring countries and assured that Armenia properly focuses on and solves all issues raised by Iranian prisoners in line with the requirements of the legislation.
Deputy Ambassador Ali Mohammad Motaghi invited Goyunyan to the Islamic Republic of Iran to become familiar with the peculiarities of the activities in the penitentiary sector and discuss other issues of mutual interest.
