The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction, chaired by Judge Davit Balayan, denied the motion for termination of criminal prosecution against Head of the State Supervision Service (powers temporarily suspended) Davit Sanasaryan and dismissing the case proceedings. The motion was filed by Sanasaryan’s attorney Inessa Petrosyan. The court stated that oversight is conducted by the Prosecutor General’s Office, regardless of who is conducting the preliminary investigation.

Davit Sanasaryan is charged with abuse of official position, and a signature to not leave the country has been selected as a pre-trial measure. There are four people under the criminal case, including two employees of the State Supervision Service and the friend of one of the employees who is the de facto head of a company.
