Russia will allocate $ 2.8 million for the development of the Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor provinces of Armenia, Advisor to the Russian Embassy Dmitry Stepanov told TASS on Friday.

Russia attaches great importance to the projects that are implemented in Armenia through the UN Development Program and with the financial support of Russia, he said.

According to the Russian diplomat, the project will begin in March this year. 

The new project is a combination of the two previous ones aimed at the development of agriculture and tourism, Stepanov added.
