YEREVAN. – Vahagn Vermishyan, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee of Armenia, does not accept the charges against him, and his legal defender has filed an appeal with the Criminal Court of Appeal against the decision to arrest him. His lawyer Mushegh Arakelyan told about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am today.
As reported earlier that Vermishyan had been arrested by a court order. Six more people have been charged in the criminal case opened against him on charges of bribe-taking. Based on a court ruling, three of them were arrested for two months. Jon Farkhoyan, the former head of the Yerevan Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee, is included in the case, too; but in this case the court ruled that he be released on bail.
