YEREVAN. – The criminal case against famous Armenian singer Haykaram Ghevondyan (Spitakci Hayko), and regarding a double car hit of a pedestrian  in Yerevan in 2018, was dropped a few days ago due to a lack of corpus delicti. Ghevondyan's lawyer Ruben Baloyan confirmed this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

His lawyer said the death was the result of the first hit.

Ghevondyan was charged with running over a pedestrian who way lying on the asphalt as a result of being hit by another car and leaving the scene. He was released on a signature bond.

Arayik Chibukhchyan, the driver of the Defense Ministry vehicle that first hit this pedestrian, is also charged in the case. He was charged with violating the rules of driving, which negligently caused the death of a person. He, too, was released on a signature bond.

On December 14, 2018, a Defense Ministry vehicle driven by contract serviceman Chibukhchyan had pedestrian Knarik Petikyan in downtown Yerevan, causing her death.
