YEREVAN. – Irates daily writes: According to our information, [opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader and tycoon] Gagik Tsarukyan, who does not want to participate in the [forthcoming] referendum [on constitutional amendments], recently had a meeting with Arhur Vanetsyan, the former director of the NSS [National Security Service].

We were unable to find out the reason for his meeting. However, it is clear that it is not for the "authorities’ pleasing" conversations that Tsarukyan has gone to the door of Vanetsyan, who has expressed a desire to create an opposition force.

According to the same source, the PAP leader found himself in an awkward situation. On the one hand, he cannot openly go into war with [PM] Pashinyan, as the tax audits will gain a new, "frightening" momentum, the old deals will come out to the water surface, and on the other hand, he does not want to take part in the steps of the power.

He is left with being an opposition in the face, [but] in the spirit—something incomprehensible; neither power nor alternative, nor even a proper opposition.
