The Committee on Customs Tariffs under the State Council of China on March 2 this year will begin to accept applications from Chinese companies for exemption from import tariffs on 696 commodity items from the US.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the agency, such permits will be valid for one year, TASS reported.

Based on a check on the compliance of enterprises with certain conditions, as well as the conformity of import purchases in the US with the principles of the market and trade, their operations will not be subject to the mirror tariffs of our country introduced in response to additional fees accepted in the US on the basis of Article 301, the statement said.

As indicated in the appendix to the document, the list of 696 commodity items includes pork, beef, soybeans, LNG and oil.

Import for one year and within the specified amount will not be subject to the mirror tariffs of our country, introduced in response to the additional fees accepted in the US on the basis of Article 301, the document says.
