The Armenian authorities are going to be asked more and more uncomfortable questions regarding the political persecution against second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. This is what Kocharyan’s attorney Hayk Alumyan told reporters today.
When asked if the information that Angela Merkel had asked Nikol Pashinyan about Kocharyan’s case during her meeting with Pashinyan was accurate, the attorney stated that he didn’t know the details of their conversation. “However, the authorities are going to be asked more and more inappropriate questions since it is becoming clearer and clearer that Kocharyan is being politically persecuted,” he said and insisted that Robert Kocharyan’s arrest is unlawful and groundless.
Today’s trial was postponed due to the interpreter’s absence.
