President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today signed the package of laws on making amendments and supplements to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and on making a supplement to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, as reported the official website of the President of Armenia.

“By adopting the amendments, the legislature has regulated relations that aren’t common in society, but may entail negative manifestations and concern the relations being established within a narrow scope of persons.

At the same time, taking into consideration the fact that the law provides for new concepts, in terms of application of those concepts, the President of Armenia attaches importance to application of the mentioned legal regulations by plenipotentiary bodies with a high sense of responsibility, observance of the overriding principle of respect for fundamental human and citizen’s rights, enshrined in the Constitution, and in case of need for restriction of those rights and freedoms — the selection of useful and necessary means to achieve the goal set under the Constitution,” the presidential decree reads.
