Iran is committed to the nuclear deal signed with the six states, and this deal is still alive, President Hassan Rouhani said during the government’s session.

Rouhani emphasized that fact that international court ruled against the United States and said the sanctions are a mistake shows that this deal is still alive, RIA Novosti reported.

In 2015, the six powers (UK, Germany, China, Russia, the USA, France) and Iran agreed on the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan. The agreement provided for the lifting of sanctions in exchange for limiting Iran’s nuclear program. However, in May 2018, the United States announced a unilateral withdrawal from the deal and imposed tough sanctions against the Islamic republic. In January Iran announced that it will no longer comply with any commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal.
