Armenian FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan is concerned about the incident on the border with Azerbaijan.

Commenting on the shelling by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces of the Armenian positions, as a result of which the Armenian soldier was wounded, the FM noted they cause any steps aimed at increasing tension.

“Escalation does not allow real progress in the negotiation process,” he said adding that in 2019, there was an important achievement - a decrease in the rate of escalation.

“There were incidents and losses, but there were fewer, and it is very important to maintain trends. Opposite actions are unacceptable,” the FM added.

According to him, the Armenian side intends to make further efforts to reduce tensions, and it is very important to implement the agreements reached earlier in this regard.

“There are clear proposals, and we insist on their implementation to strengthen the ceasefire and prevent risks. The threat method does not work. Armenia and Artsakh reject them,” the FM said.
