Out of the 31,021 alumni who took centralized Armenian language exams, the grades of 1,686 alumni were unsatisfactory. This is what deputy of the Prosperous Armenia Party Naira Zohrabyan said during parliamentary hearings devoted to the legislative reforms and issues in higher education and science today and expressed concern about the level of teaching of Armenian in Armenian schools.

She also stated that only 152 applicants received 19 or 20 points. “Let’s first make sure applicants have enough knowledge to take exams,” Zohrabyan said and suggested that universities introduce courses devoted to “linguistic thinking”.
