YEREVAN. – The judge has a chance to eliminate illegal arrest judgement and to get out of a difficult situation honorably, ex-president Robert Kocharyan’s son told reporters on Tuesday.

The court hearing of the criminal case involving Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and some other former senior officials resumed today. Kocharyan has been under custody for 14 months now.

“My father is under illegal arrest for more than a year. This a new chance for the judge to suspend illegal arrest, to review the preventive measure, and to get out of the situation with honor,” Levon Kocharyan said.

Armenian ex-PMs Vazgen Manukyan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, Karen Karapetyan and Artsakh ex-PM Anushavan Danielyan presented a personal guarantee to the court for Kocharyan to change the measure of restraint and release him.

Earlier incumbent president of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan and his predecessor Arkady Ghukasyan asked court to release Kocharyan.
