YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: During the elections and referenda, the RA Electoral Code provides for the use of video cameras in polling stations to increase transparency through online monitoring.

However, according to a source of Past newspaper, the authorities are discussing the option of holding the [upcoming] constitutional referendum without video cameras and online broadcasting.

In fact, there is a desire not to install video cameras in the 1,500 large polling stations as well.

By the way, according to our information, people who have played a key role in the previous elections are “pushing” this idea forward.
