YEREVAN. – A number of preliminary prophylactic steps have been taken; a working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan has been set up, which is in contact with the structures in charge of the healthcare system of Iran. Armenia’s Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said this in a conversation with journalists today, referring to the fight in Armenia against the coronavirus.

According to him, respective steps are being taken within Armenia as well. "You know that the decision on the border with Iran has already been made; we have some restrictions," Grigoryan said. “As for the rest of the issues, all agencies, both in Armenia and outside Armenia, are in online connection. In case of danger, appropriate decisions will be made.”

Asked whether a decision can be made to close Armenia’s border with Georgia, too, Armen Grigoryan said: “At the moment such a question is not being discussed yet. The relevant agencies are in touch with the situation in Georgia. All issues are discussed, all options are on the table, and the solutions will be as per the situation.”
