YEREVAN. – The dismissals were just one of the conclusions; much more serious work is being done. Armenia’s Deputy Defense Minister Gabriel Balayan said this in a briefing with reporters today, referring to the recent deaths and dismissals in the army.

According to him, these cases were registered as a defect, and today they have a lot of work to do.

Asked where the defect was that there were more than 10 casualties, Balayan said: “You say 13 casualties. I do not find that everyone is killed because according to the information I have received ex officio, some are deaths, not casualties.

We need to be stricter, regulatory relations must be strictly followed. If we say there are no legal regulations, it would be a lie; the task is to ensure legal application. I think the investigation should find out whether or not the people who were dismissed are directly linked."
