Moscow brings condolences to Ankara in connection with the death of the Turkish military in Syria, said FM Sergei Lavrov.

There are agreements between Turkish and Russian military, he said adding that such tragedies could have been avoided if these agreements were fully implemented, including the transfer of the exact coordinates of the Turkish troops.

He noted that it is important to combine all efforts to avoid escalation in Syria, RIA Novosti reported.

Lavrov said Moscow cannot forbid the Syrian army to fulfill the requirements that are recorded in the UN Security Council resolutions on the merciless, uncompromising fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
