President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the members of the Security Council hope the Turkish authorities take all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of Russian citizens and organizations. Spokesperson of the President of Russia Dmitri Peskov on Friday told reporters that this was declared during the Russian President’s operational consultation with the permanent members of the Security Council, reports TASS.

“There was a detailed discussion on the situation regarding Idlib, and the President expressed extreme concern over the sharp escalation of the situation in this region of Syria incited by terrorist groups that have intensified attacks against the Syrian army,” the Kremlin’s representative stated.

During the session, it was stressed that Turkish soldiers in Idlib must not be beyond the borders of the vantage grounds. It was also stressed that during the attacks of the Syrian army against the bandit and terrorist groups in Idlib, Russia did everything it could to ensure the safety of Turkish soldiers in the vantage grounds.
