Washington will not hesitate to break the deal with the Taliban if it does not fulfill its obligations, Pentagon head Mark Esper, told reporters in Kabul, TASS reported.

If the Taliban do not fulfill their obligations, they will lose the opportunity to sit at the negotiating table with the Afghans and discuss the future of their country, he noted.

Esper noted that the US will closely monitor the actions of the Taliban.

If the Taliban comply with the deals, the US, according to the conditions, will begin to reduce its military presence in Afghanistan. It will work with other members of the coalition to proportionally reduce the number of troops, the Pentagon chief said.
