YEREVAN. – We haven't been able to work, we haven’t been able to earn a living for three months now. People carrying out private tourist activities, and who were protesting at Republic Square in Yerevan demanding the authorities to allow them to park their tourist cars nearby the square, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Alfred Kocharyan, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Armenia, came to meet with these protesters, and informed these drivers that the respective discussions were underway.

Since it was the Yerevan Municipality that had told the drivers not to park their vehicles in the said area, the drivers contacted Edgar Galstyan, Acting Head of the Transport Department of the city hall, to clarify the matter.

"We need to discuss this question quickly and give the people a 'yes' or a 'no,' answer,” Galstyan said, in particular, in the phone talk with these demonstrators.

And according to the deputy chairman of the Tourism Committee, discussions are underway with various agencies to find a solution to enable the private sector to work. "As soon as a ready decision is made, we will definitely inform," he added, in particular.

The protesters temporarily stopped their demonstration, but promised to return.
