Minister of High Technological Industry of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan today received the delegation of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), including Director of the GIZ “Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training South Caucasus” Program Katja Kammerer, newly appointed Program Director Hans-Jurgen Kassens and head of team of the “Development of Innovative Tourism and Technologies in Armenia” Program Michaela Johanna Weber.

As reported the Ministry of High Technological Industry of Armenia, during the meeting, Katja Kammerer presented the programs to be implemented between 2020 and 2023 and to be financed by the European Union.

Kammerer also mentioned the “SMEDA – Support to SME Development in Armenia” Program and that the programs that the GIZ will be implementing in the upcoming years will be aimed at enhancing technologies and regional tourism through grants.

Minister Arshakyan greeted the guests and expressed gratitude to the GIZ for its activities targeted at the development of technology in Armenia over the past years. Importance was attached to digitization and the development of high technologies.

Within the scope of the cooperation with the GIZ, the minister attached importance to the creation of a unified platform for Armenian startups which will provide all beneficiaries, including investors with the opportunity to have a comprehensive picture of the startup eco-system in Armenia.
