The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia has appealed the decision to release former executive director of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan with an appeal filed with the Court of Cassation. The news was confirmed by Head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office Arevik Khachatryan.

Last year, Ara Vardanyan was released on bail.

On October 9, 2019, former executive director of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan was charged for embezzlement on the ground of the fact that products of a company subordinate to the Fund had not been supplied to the addressees. Upon the decision of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction, arrest was selected as a pre-trial measure for Ara Vardanyan.
