New factors have emerged today that make our friendship inseparable. Visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today during a statement for the media with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, in Tbilisi.

"Further development of relations with Georgia is among the most important priorities of our country's foreign policy; I am more than convinced that there are prerequisites for it,” Pashinyan noted, in particular. “The [Armenian-Georgian] friendship that has come from the annals of centuries, (…),  provides a solid foundation and fertile ground for our cooperation.

New factors have emerged today that make our friendship inseparable (…); it is, first and foremost, the shared vision of our two peoples to build a future based on democratic values.

The victory of democracy and the establishment of the rule of law have opened new horizons for expanding cooperation between our two countries.

[During our talk] we touched upon the need for consistent implementation of promising projects in transport, energy, and other domains.

We have come up with a number of cooperation proposals related to high tech, education, and science.

My Georgian counterpart and I also touched upon regional security and peace. It is clear that the Armenian-Georgian partnership is one of the most important guarantees for ensuring stability in our region.

Turning to regional issues, I would like to express my conviction that the only way to resolve them is peaceful negotiations.

I am also sure that every conflict has its own peculiarities. In this respect, I attach great importance to maintaining a balanced position on issues that are sensitive to each other.

In the context of traditional Armenian-Georgian fraternal relations, I would like to emphasize the significant contribution that the Georgian Armenians have made.

I would like to re-emphasize the importance of regular high-level contacts."
