Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan had a meeting with Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.

The spiritual leader of Georgia welcomed Prime Minister Pashinyan’s official visit and expressed confidence that it will contribute to further development of the relations between Georgia and Armenia. “We are living in difficult times, but we need to overcome those difficulties together. I hope the relations between the churches of our nations continue to be fraternal and contribute to further development of the cooperation between the two nations,” Ilia II said.

Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and noted that he has warm memories of his first meeting with Ilia II in June 2018. “During this period, there have been many positive things in our relations, and we have succeeded in making sure the relations between the two countries continue to grow,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the objective of the governments of Georgia and Armenia is to achieve real changes through cooperation and further strengthen cooperation in various sectors.

Prior to the meeting with the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Prime Minister Pashinyan laid a wreath at the monument in Heroes’ Square in Tbilisi and paid his respects.
