YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: It turns out that not only [PM’s wife] Anna Hakobyan and Lucy Kocharyan, who was awarded the [2020 International] Women of Courage Award by [US First Lady] Melania Trump, but also Lilit Makunts [leader of the majority My Step faction in Armenia’s parliament] is in Washington these days, who had a closed meeting on March 3, at the academic center of the Carnegie Foundation.

Former ambassadors, analysts, diplomats, and representatives of the Armenian community (…) participated in the event.

It turns out that the meeting did not go as smoothly, since the guests tried for about 1.5 hours to get at least one articulated explanation and justification from Makunts about the need for the [constitutional] referendum on April 5, but they did not hear convincing justifications.

According to one of the participants of the meeting, those present tried to understand the logic of organizing the referendum to change several judges [of the Constitutional Court].
