The Department for Fight against Corruption and Economic Crimes of the General Department of Criminal Police of Armenia has received information that the newly appointed director of Polyclinic #12 demanded one of the employees to collect money as ‘tip’ from patients and give the director AMD 50,000 a month as bribe, threatening the employee and hinting that the employee would be dismissed, if the latter failed to do so.

It turns out that the mentioned employee refused to fulfill the director’s unlawful demand and was dismissed on February 21. Based on a report prepared in accordance with information, the Department obtained factual data according to which the director had demanded a bribe from another employee of the Polyclinic as well. The director has been taken to the General Department of Criminal Police and is currently detained.

The Department has instituted a criminal case, which has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee.
