The second-largest city in Armenia, Gyumri, is included in the Forbes list of 17 most beautiful places to visit this spring.

According to the author, due to the opening of new flights of low-cost airlines to Gyumri from Germany and Greece, the city is now remembered not only in connection with the 1988 Spitak earthquake.

“Spring is a fantastic time to visit Gyumri as the harsh winters subside and flowers saturate the city as it prepares to celebrate Easter with juicy fruits and heaping plates of pilaf,” the author said.

The author advises readers to taste the Armenian dish Panrkhash and local herbal teas. And of course, one can buy an unusual souvenir - accessories made by a local artist from bullets.
