The pandemic has hit global stock markets, Euronews reported.

Thus the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 5.86%, down 20% from the record set last month. Nasdaq is down by 4.7%, but the shares of companies organizing cruises and tourist trips fell most of all.

The British FTSE 100 fell by 1.52%, the French CAC 40 - by 0.57%, the German DAX - by 0.37%.

Meanwhile, Milan’s FTSE MIB grew by 0.33%.

Earlier, the Bank of England has unexpectedly lowered its base rate immediately by 50 points, to 0.25%. Traders are waiting for the meeting of the European Central Bank (ECB), set to be held on Thursday.
