Today, Yerevan hosted an Armenian-Belarusian business forum held on the sidelines of the 14th session of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Among the speakers were co-chairs of the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, including Minister of Economy of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan and Minister of Forestry of Belarus Vitaly Drozha.

Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan greeted the participants of the event and said the following: “There is significant and unused potential between Armenia and Belarus that may serve as an impetus to achieve more progress in the trade and economic relations. Today, Armenia and Belarus have all the conditions for effective cooperation between the companies of both countries and mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation.” He also stated that Armenia has one of the most open investment regimes in the region, leads an ‘open-door’ policy on foreign investments and is continuously changing the business climate.

In his speech, Minister of Forestry of Belarus Vitaly Drozha stated that the trade and economic cooperation is dynamically growing (evidence of this is the statistics), the actions being taken to establish ties between the business circles of both countries have been intensified, and there is active cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of Armenia and Belarus.

The Belarusian minister wished the participants of the business forum effective discussions and establishment of business ties.

Representatives of nearly 50 companies participating in the forum continued their meetings in the B2B format, learned about each other’s activities and earmarked new directions for cooperation.
