YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia calls on compatriots in Egypt who want to return to their homeland to use the Sharm El Sheikh-Yerevan flight scheduled for Thursday. MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan said this during a briefing.

She noted that this is the last flight from Sharm El Sheikh at the moment.

Naghdalyan reminded that the Foreign Ministry made a call yesterday, in which it stressed the importance of avoiding foreign trips. At the same time, she noted the existence of hotlines in Armenian embassies abroad, as well as in the MFA (055 620 111); this communication is available with mobile apps, too.

The Armenian MFA spokesperson also confirmed that travel restrictions to Russia, and earlier to Georgia, were coming into force Wednesday. But these restrictions do not apply to cargo transportation.

The Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border is closed due to bad weather, but cargo transportation there will resume when weather conditions allow.

Also, EU countries Switzerland, Norway, and Liechtenstein have also introduced entry restrictions.
