Outbreak of novel coronavirus would have a temporary impact on the global economy, but it may last weeks or even months, vice president of the European Central Bank Luis de Guindos told RNE television.

The Bank will be ready to take decisive measures if necessary, and the regulator has instruments that are more effective than just acting on monetary policy.

He called for EU member states to take coordinated efforts in order to mitigate coronavirus impact.
