YEREVAN. – The Armenian government did not underestimate the threat of coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with Shant television.

Asked whether the government underestimated coronavirus threat, the PM said: “No. It was my decision to set up a working group on January 30 to prevent coronavirus outbreak in Armenia. This means that we evaluated certain dangers because we live in a global world, and over last 18 months Armenia’s relations with the outside world have expanded significantly. It was clear that the processes taking place in China would reach Armenia at some point. We hoped for the best and prepared for the worst”.
