YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia urges Armenian citizens wishing to return from Russia to Armenia to use air routes exclusively. The MFA has issued a statement in this regard.

"We inform that the Gudauri-Kobi road section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway remains closed due to adverse weather conditions," the statement reads. “We remind [you] that according to the decision of the Georgian government, all foreigners have been banned from entry into Georgia starting March 18. So, even in the case of improvement of weather conditions and the opening of the highway leading to [Upper] Lars [checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border], only trucks and Georgian and Russian citizens returning to their homeland will be able to cross the Russian-Georgian border. The Upper Lars checkpoint is closed indefinitely for foreigners.

Once again we urge our citizens to use exclusively air routes, particularly the airports of nearby Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don cities, to return from Russia to Armenia."
