YEREVAN. – Our compatriots from various countries petition to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan so they can return to Armenia. Zareh Sinanyan, the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia, said this at a news conference.

"We are trying to provide comprehensive answers to everyone, find solutions," Sinanyan said. "Many applicants are also from Russia, because our compatriots want to enter Armenia by land."

He noted that they had no information about whether Armenians living in other European countries were infected with coronavirus. "Our compatriots in Iran are living in a state of emergency, until now we have one death related to the disease; she was an 85-year-old woman with other health issues,” Sinanyan said. “The situation in the Netherlands is satisfactory. We have no information about those who may be infected in Italy."

The commissioner for diaspora affairs added that even though some programs were suspended, the spread of coronavirus has not affected the iGorts  program for Diaspora Armenian professionals.
