Pirates have kidnapped nine Georgian sailors from a Panama-flagged tanker in the waters of the African country of Nigeria, agenda.ge reported.

The Georgian Maritime Transport Agency said the pirates have kidnapped on April 30.

The agency, together with the Georgian MFA, is already working with the shipowner and all other parties involved in the process to ensure the timely and safe rescue of Georgian sailors from captivity in all possible ways.
