A call was received Monday that there was a man's dead body near the church nearby a cemetery in Abovyan, Armenia.

On the same day, a 40-year-old man’s dead body, with multiple injuries to the head by way of blunt objects with a relatively sharp edge, was found in the mentioned place.

The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case on murder charges.

The investigation revealed a number of circumstances of this incident and the identity of the person who might have committed this crime—an Abovyan resident born in 1952.

He was detained on suspicion of committing this murder and was questioned.

Clothes with traces of blood were confiscated.

Expert examinations have been appointed.

The investigation continues.
